  1. Saved searches

allow to save search queries, e.g. if I search for tags "android, tutorial,ui", let me save this query so next time I don't need to select all the tags again.
Something like Jira's filetrs, if you are familiar with that 9https://confluence.atlassian.com/jiracorecloud/saving-your-search-as-a-filter-765593721.html)

There is an option to sort your links by the number of likes. If all your links are private this could work for you. Otherwise this also includes links liked by other users.
To sort your links by “number of likes” you have to manually add parameter sf=LIKES to the URL of your profile. For the Tagpacker profile the URL would look like: https://tagpacker.com/user/tagpacker?sf=LIKES

However, since manually changing the URL is very cumbersome we’d recommend you to introduce a tag like “re-read-later” or “I like” to filter your links. After re-reading the article just remove the tag.

  3. Add new views and ability to switch between them!

Right now I see only one view. Image with a short description. Please add 2 more views to see my links.

View 1 - Only screenshots of the websites (4x4 or 5x5) like gallery.
View 2 - Just the title in a linear list.

These two view would make it very easy to see many links if I need it.

  5. Increase the importation size limit on bookmark files

I cannot use Tagpacker because of the data limit that you have imposed on file size (10kb) for importation. I currently use Xmarks and was exploring alternatives.

Currently, the size of the import file is limited to 10 megabytes. Usually that is sufficient for thousands of bookmarks. Which size has your file? You could divide your file into several files. Or send it to us (e.g., via email) and we’ll find a way to do import the bookmarks for you.

  6. Give us a way to communicate with other Tagpacker users.

I've been with you all since March 2017 or so but I feel so alone here. I only have two followers in all that time and one of them is YOU (a bot as it were, since you auto-follow all users upon them joining). There is no way to interact with or mingle with other users that I am aware of.

It'd be nice to say hello to people from time to time and tell them "Hey I really dig this Tagpacker service, don't you?!" ..."Any chance you may have some good links for such and such, blah, blah, blah"…

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and for being a Tagpacker user since March :)

Currently, we support different way to get in touch with other users with similar interests.

    1. https://tagpacker.com/network is your “Network Dashboard”. It shows the latest links of users you follow. On the left side you have “Tag channels”. If you click on a channel, lets say “Productivity”, you filter links tagged “Productivity”.
Below the channels there is a section “Users posting to this channel”. It only contains users you are not following yet.

    2. When you click the share button of a link, you can recommend that link to one of your followers (“Recommend to your followers on Tagpacker”). Also, you can add a personal message.
We’re planning to extend that feature to allow unregistered users to recommend links for your collection. But this is still in planning.

(3.) In one of the next versions we’ll…

  8. Tag cloud

What about a tag cloud view to visualize and manage a large number of tags?

Rationale: with 100 tags and few more, populating the whole list of tags on the left is quite slow right now.
And once you select a tag you suddenly got back the reduced tag list.

    Thanks

We’ll support batch editing of tags, and make it faster.

Which edit action(s) are you trying to perform?
Delete multiple tags, move multiple tags to a tag pack, merge multiple tags into a single tag…?

    Thx for your idea.
We’re not 100% if we get it right.
Do you want to send an email to Tagpacker that contains an URL in the message body in order to add this URL to your link collection?

  12. Include an easier way to add links to embedded PDF files

To add PDF link you have to add a link to another normal web site first, then go in and edit the advanced settings to add the PDF URL. I understand that you can't get any metadata from the PDF, and the bookmarklet may not work, but it would be nice to add the URL without having to add another site first.

Possibly add logic that if the URL or MIME is a PDF just add the URL and have the user manually add the other fields?

  14. Make it possible for multiple people to contribute to the a common set of tags.

It would be really useful to create a set of tags that cover an area and have multiple people have the ability to contribute to and see that set. One person could be the manager or not?

We plan to support collaboration in Tagpacker.
Your suggestion is a great starting point.

Currently, our basic idea is to have something like (collaboration) spaces where a group of users can contribute to (links and tags).

    Would this fit your needs?

  15. Socialize more, by knowing who add this bookmark before I did

I was a delicious fan, many years ago.

The old delicious was very social and successful because it showed who added the bookmark before we did, and the first to discover it. And we could follow the persons who shared interest and discovered a lot of amazing stuff.

This feature is already on our road map.
Any ideas/wishes how to support this in the user interface?
Should there be an additional button for each link to show these persons/users?

  16. Include article/source page's date (not the date the link was added)

I'm adding lots of web articles and blog posts so a team I'm working with can organize their research. It's important to know the date the article itself was published; is there a way to include this in Tagpacker (display it and allow for sorting by the source page's date?)

  17. Create an area where we can see all the recent links people are uploading.

I have no idea what sort of links people are uploading and this means I miss a lot of opportunities to find something very interesting or helpful to me.

The only two ways I know of to discover links on Tagpacker is to follow someone and hope they have some that I need and hope that they are still active and uploading more so I get notified about them, or I have to sit there at the monitor and think up words to search for.

Other link sharing sites have this type of feature and I find it very resourceful.…

We had this feature for a while.
But some “people” (or bots) used it to post spam links. So we decided to disable it.

However, as we also think it’s an important feature we should find a way to exclude spam links from “the global link stream”.

    Any thoughts on this?

We thought about somethink like trending links or trending tags.

  18. Improve the way your channels work.

What I mean is let's say I was interested in everything people are saying about President Trump so I would have to add a channel called Donald Trump, Donald J. Trump, President Trump, President Donald Trump, Trump, Donald and so on.

Same thing for topics involving the United States. I would have to create channel tags for USA, US, United Stated, United States of America, America and so forth.

Or for recipes - I currently have two channels for that: Recipe and Recipes.

I should just be able to use one and have it pull up everything else automatically. Recipe…

This is a great idea, thx!

Let’s say we have one channel with tags “Trump” and “D. Trump”.
Then this channel would filter links tagged either “Trump” or “D. Trump”, or tagged with both “Trump” and “D. Trump”, correct?

Instead of folder, we use tags to organize/classify links as we think they give you more flexibility. Once you have some tags, you can create tagpacks. Tagpacks group tags of the same kind. For example:
    Tagpack: Years
    Tags included: 2015, 2016, 2017
This way, you can create a multi-dimensional classification of your link collection, also called faceted classification.
Here is an example on how you could use tags and tagpacks: https://tagpacker.com/user/tagpacker

  20. bulk edit for tags and tag management

A specific page for tag management would be appreciated, as it is it's pretty tedious work to edit a tag.

Bulk edit to rename/delete/add to/remove from tagpack would be neat too.
